Sadie's Performance Offerings
  • Fusion Belly Dance - This style of dance lends itself well to Burlesque & Variety Shows, Breweries/Bars, Festivals, Private Parties, and more! It includes a variety of props such as swords, feather fans, fan veils, etc. 
  • Themed Shows - Sadie loves a good themed event! While she is open to creating new costumes, here is a list of characters she currently has in her repertoire: Mermaid or Queen Triton, Lumiere (Beauty & The Beast), Martian Girl (Mars Attacks), Squidward (SpongeBob), Beetlejuice, Jack Skellington, The Queen of Hearts, Gomez Addams, C-3PO (Star Wars), Peter Pan, & Elvira.
  • Roaming Entertainment - Set the mood by hiring Sadie to roam your event. This can include props, dancing, and audience interactions...perfect for a more immersive experience!
  • Need more than 1 dancer? Hire The Desert Darlings!

Workshop Offerings

  1. Whimsical Fusion Combinations (1.5-3 hours) - In this workshop, Sadie teaches her favorite combinations, which constantly evolve. Do you want to see what Sadie is most excited about RIGHT NOW? Let's dive into dynamic movement phrases that blend serpentine stylizations with unusual lock combinations, playful arm pathways, and exciting foot work! This workshop is available as Level 1 (Beginner/intermediate) or Level 2 (Intermediate/Advanced).
  2. Layer Lab  (1.5-3 hours) - Learn Sadie's approach to putting together mind bending layers! We'll mix sharp and smooth, we'll learn to layer multiple tempos and rhythms, and we'll have fun creating new movement pathways in our bodies.
  3. Dancing with Zills 101 (1.5-3 hours) - Finger cymbals are one of Sadie's favorite props, and she loves teaching beginners! Are you ready to start your journey with this super fun musical instrument? Let's go!
  4. Can you Zill to 10? (1.5-3 hours) - Are you intimidated by Odd Rhythms? Let's demystify the Samai Thaqil, a 10/8 pattern! We'll spend time breaking down three different finger cymbal patterns (yay, we get to sit down!), and then we have two options: We can focus solely on playing zills, or we can add the zills to elegant dance combos to the classic song, "Lamma Bada."
  5. Fusion Finger Cymbal Choreography (3-4 hours) - Sadie has several finger cymbal choreographies in her dance catalogue that she would love to share with you. If interested in learning a finger cymbal choreography, please inquire about song and dance level options. Finger Cymbals are such a fun way to start a dance set! They really grab (and hold) the audience's attention!
  6. Tablahiti (3-4 hours) - This upbeat fusion drum solo is a real crowd pleaser, and the perfect new addition to your repertoire! This drum dance has become one of the Desert Darlings staple pieces and I can't wait to teach it to you. Let's get wild!
  7. Ready, Set, Shimmy! (2 hours) - Leg Shimmies, Hip Shimmies, 3/4 Shimmies, Up Shimmies, Down Shimmies, Hagallahs, Gawazees, Over Shimmies...ALL the shimmies! Do you need a Shimmy Tune Up? Get ready to sweat in this technique and drills workshop. If you're struggling with your shimmies, you may just need to reframe how you think about them. As someone who struggled to learn shimmies, Sadie loves breaking them down in different ways. This workshop includes a long warm up and cool down.
  8. Let's Get Theatrical- Go a step beyond choreography and add theatricality to your dance! Sadie is known for playing a variety of characters over the past decade. Blending character work with dance is one of her favorite things and she'd love to take you on your very own theatrical journey! Facial expressions, body language, and turning pedestrian movements into unique dance combinations that tell a story.
  9. Performance Intensive (4-6 hours) - In this workshop, we go beyond learning a choreography. We set formations and we learn how to dance as one. We focus on our intention, theatricality, and stage presence. We manipulate the dance to add variety such as levels, tempo changes, and facing. Are you ready to dance in an ensemble? Would you like to perform with Sadie? Then this workshop is for you! Students will receive costuming details and a choreography video in advance.
